Core responsible: Dr Jacob Odeberg
 |
| Staff: Kicki Holmberg, Torbjörn
Öst, Malin Andersen, Jorge Andrade |
| Objectives: The facility
functions as a national resource centre for large scale
analysis of gene variability (single nucleotide polymorphisms,
SNPs) based on the PyrosequencingTM
technology. It provides the necessary infrastructure
and competence to function as a central data producing and
analysis unit for large scale genotyping projects, and to
enable large scale SNP discovery projects through resequencing
of candidate genes, taking advantage of infrastructure in
the KTH high throughput DNA sequencing facility. External
projects are run on a research collaboration basis, and
the resource centre provides competence and expert advice
to external research collaborators prior to setting up and
executing SNP genotyping and SNP discovery projects. |
| Infrastructure: The SNP genotyping
facility is built around the Pyrosequencing technology and
integrated with purpose designed robotic workstations for
stream-lined sample handling and preparation. Two production
lines are available. |
| • |
A semi-automated line based on the 96 well
format PSQ96 Pyrosequencer with in-house designed PSS robots
from Magnetic Biosolutions. |
• |
A high throughput line based on a modular MBS
(Magnetic Biosolutions) robote infrastructure and 96 HS
2nd generation Pyrosequencer. |
